OSHA's Respirable Crystalline Silica standard requires employers to designate a competent person to implement and oversee the written exposure control plan on construction job sites. PS&M's Silica Competent Person Training prepares designated employees to fulfill that role — covering the health hazards of silica exposure, tasks and operations that generate respirable dust, Table 1 controls, engineering and work practice controls, medical surveillance requirements, and recordkeeping obligations.

This training is particularly important for contractors performing cutting, grinding, drilling, or demolition work on materials containing silica, and for any employer working to stay ahead of enforcement actions and protect workers from one of the most serious long-term occupational health hazards in the industry.
